First Loop : Squarewave Parade TeaspoonSLIGHT

(download)

Here's a little loop from a Roland TR-707 into the new TSP TeaspoonSLIGHT and then into the TSP Downgrade (Sample Rate Reducer Extraordinaire!) I clocked the 707 with a Flame Clockwork and then ran CV out of the Clockwork into both TSP boxes. On the Teaspoon it is open and closing the sample window, determining which bit of drums gets grabbed and looped. On the Downgrade the CV is making that little two note "melody" and rising and falling tone in the mix.

What you're hearing in the audio is:

- Clean 707 drums

- Blending in the wet, chopped, looped signal on the Teaspoon (rad new blend control on these ones!)

- Kicking on the Downgrade and tweaking

- Backing out to almost clean drums again

Big shoutout to The Squarewave Parade for making such awesome stuff! Could play with these all night....

Fast Glass

(download)

Driving fast late at night. Hear the glass. Hear the glass.

Playing around tonight with the Synthmonger's new Pulsemonger pedal. Threw a little CV into it from the Control Processor to sliiiiightly modulate the pulse widths on the main notes and sub-octaves, and then sandwiched the whole thing in between a few Squarewave Parade filters. Laissez-faire glitch-folk percussion provided by a TSP Safeplace Minm.

Hear the glass. See the light.

Dwarfcraft Massive Passive x Moogerfoogers x FOOLS

Unreleased Massive Passive expression utility from Dwarfcraft Devices. Running some mellow magic from the "Fools" soundtrack (featuring Kenny Rogers And The First Edition) through a Moog Lowpass filter and Ring Mod. Using the joystick on the Massive Passive to modulate the cutoff and resonance on the lowpass and using the four tunable push buttons to tweak the speed of the LFO on the ring mod. There's also a tap tempo on the Massive Passive.

Catatonic Youth : "Piss Scene"

So good it still deserves to be posted even a year after it was released! One of my favorite singles on Horizontal Action. So much attitude and SO MUCH FUZZ. Pretty much a perfect record. Did these guys really break up? Bummed they disintegrated right as I was about to see them play earlier this year...

Audioweevil08 x TeaspoonCAS

Had a little fun tonight trying a some guitar through a Bugbrand Audioweevil08 and then again through both that and a Squarewave Parade TeaspoonCAS.

The fuzz possibilities on the weevil are eeeeeeendless. Such a nice device. And the new Teaspoon...... Well what can be said about that. Here it's just being used as the most amazing delay you've ever heard basically. Sampling fidelity dropped down for some extra grit and length and the feedback dialled in just right. Too cool.

MPC x Clockwork x Roland SH-09

(download)

Quick little groove using the MPC to sequence some MIDI notes and some drums. The MIDI notes are converted to CV courtesy of the Flame Clockwork and then sent into the Roland SH 09's CV and Gate inputs to pitch and gate the synth's VCO and VCA respectively. Then the drums are run into the synth as external audio input which gets gated and filtered along with the MIDI notes. Happy family. Super fun.
